What's new in Crew 4.9

Crew Clash in the group chat, a new profile for every trip, and money said in plain words.

4.9 is a big one. Crew Clash moves into the group chat, your profile is rebuilt around the trip you're on, and money on a trip is finally easy to read.

Crew Clash in the group chat

Tap + in the group chat and start a Crew Clash. It posts a card to the chat, and anyone on the trip can join straight from it.

While a game is going, a bar at the top of the chat shows who's playing. Tap Enter to get back into a game you're in, or Watch to follow one that's already started (watchers still vote, and their votes count). When the game is waiting on you, the bar says so.

Up to 12 people can play. It plays like a game show now: a waiting room before you start, one prompt at a time, a winner moment at the end of each round, and sound.

Your profile, built around the trip

Tap your photo in the crew row and your profile opens right there in the trip.

The top of it is This trip: the few things the trip still needs from you, like when you're free, how you're getting there, a poll to vote on or a task that's yours. The number on your photo in the crew row is the same count, so you always know if something's waiting on you. Answer a poll or finish a task and it goes down straight away.

Your crew sees the fun stuff too. Add a cover photo, a couple of prompts, your drink and your must-play song, and how people can pay you back (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or e-Transfer).

One clear page for every task

Open a task from anywhere and you get the same page: what it is, when it's due, who's on it, and one button to mark it done. Group tasks show who's finished their part.

What you owe, in plain words

Balances open with one sentence: you're owed, you owe, or you're all square. Tap it to see every expense behind it, and each expense says where you stand on it.

You don't have to wait for the trip to end, either. Settle up lists who pays whom, and you can record a payment whenever it happens.

The travel agent: Just you or Whole crew

The travel agent has two tabs now. Whole crew is the shared chat everyone on the trip sees. Just you is a private one, for the questions you don't need the group reading.

You can also send it a photo or a screenshot. Handy for a menu, a booking confirmation or a place someone sent you.

Around the trip

Plus a pile of smaller fixes.

If something in here isn't right, there's a Feedback item in the menu and it comes straight to me.
